Dr Bruce King, The Hong Kong Polytechnic University.</p> <p style="margin-bottom: 0px;">This is inspired by the work of Prof. Jim at HKU. Until I met him I had not paid much attention to our lovely banyan trees growing on old stone walls, now I look for them everywhere. The roots of the trees remind me of the complex, intertwined nature of life in Hong Kong. Such a busy and complex city means that our lives cross and re-cross, just like the roots of the trees. The walls are the foundations of our city, supporting us in our daily lives.
